What is a Dynotune?

A dynotune is the best way to get the maximum performance and driveability from your vehicle. During a dynotune, which takes anywhere from 1/2 hour to 3-4 hours (depending on modifications), we will drive your car on stationary rollers and monitor engine sensors and performance with a number of instruments and make the necessary adjustments so you will have the safest, most power with the best driveability possible. We use either SCT Eliminator four bank chips which can be used as a switch chip with up to four programs (see below) or an SCT X3 multi-program flasher with up to three tunes. During a dynotune we wil adjust many different parameters on your vehicle and get you the safest air to fuel ratio and timing for your car that will maximize power and performance.

A dyno run will reveal a lot of problems that may exist. You should have an adequate fuel system, a mass air meter with enough range so it will nor 'peg' at your horsepower level, an adequate cooling system, a good clutch, etc. . If you are unsure about about any of this, please give us a call and we'd be happy to help you make sure your combo is up to snuff. We've seen thousands of different combos and know what works best for you. What we hope to avoid is taking it to the dyno, finding the MAF is pegging, getting a new MAF, taking it to the dyno again, then finding out the fuel system is inadequate. By getting the vehicle ready ahead of time, we can minimize charges to you.

Eliminator Switch chips include up to four programs and a 4 program switch cable. The switch chip contains 4 custom programs, plus the stock tune, plus an anti-theft setting. Chips work on all Ford vehicles, except for SVT Focus, '04 and up F-150 and '05 vehicles.

XCalibrator 2 and X3 Powerflashers will work in all '96 and up Fords , they contain up to three custom programs. The advantage to the flasher is that no chip is involved.

Additional dynotune information:

In order to save hassles on the day of tuning and to save dyno time, which in turn saves you money, you should take care of the following items before you come to the dyno for your tune.

If your car has adjustable timing via the distributor, it must be set to 10*, this is YOUR responsibility. If you do not check it and it is too high, you can have engine damage, so please set the timing.

Fuel pressure must be set to stock specs prior to the tune, this is YOUR responsibility. If it is set too low, it can go lean and do engine damage, so if you have an adjustable regulator, please check and adjust it if necessary.

On a blown car, the fuel pressure regulator MUST have the vacuum hose connected to the boost side of the blower, or we will not tune the car. We will check this for you before the tune and notify you if it needs to be corrected

The EEC must be functional as must all diagnostic ports, including the OBD II port.

Be sure you have new copper spark plugs in the car. On a blown car, please change plugs to copper.

The spark plugs should be gapped at 0.035 for NA and 0.028 for blown applications.

Make sure you have good spark plug wires,

Be sure all belts and hoses are sound. The cooling system must also be adequate.

No coolant leaks or ‘smoking’ cars. Please fix all mechanical problems prior to the tune.

If your oxygen sensor wires are too short - DO NOT LENGTHEN the 02 sensor wires themselves - either lengthen the harness before the plug or buy 02 sensor extender wires.

If you have an aftermarket MAF it should be calibrated for the injector size you are using or it may take additional dyno time.

On blown cars, we will disconnect the FMU, we don't do FMUs. We will inform you that you may need to switch to a better fuel pump and/or injectors

On blown cars the ACT (computer temp sensor) should be after the blower, not before it like some SN95s.

On blown cars, you must have an adequate fuel system, an adequate pump and injectors prior to the tune. We can help you decide if your combo has an adequate fuel system.

On any returnless fuel GT's with a blower you must have an '03 Cobra Fuel tank and pump or you will run out of fuel and you'll waste money. A single Focus pump in the stock tank is good to about 350 RWHP - we will evaluate your fuel system prior to the tune and inform you of any needed upgrades

We take cash or most major credit cards. Prices do not include Ohio sales tax. That is added to the total. You will be required to sign release forms prior to us touching your car.
